How long will my project take?
This will vary by library size. A 400-disc job will take 48-72 hours from the time I have your CDs in hand until they are ready for return to you.
Which conversion type is right for me?
We can talk about that and custom-craft a plan for your setup. My usual recommendation is to aim for the best practical sound quality.
How do I get my CDs to you?
As I operate locally, all disc handoffs are handled personally. I pick up and deliver.
How do you get the digital music to me?
Converted song files are created on an external hard drive. You may provide one to me, or I can purchase one for you. External drives of sufficient capacity can be easily found for about $60.
What areas do you serve?
Roughly within a circumference bounded by Yuba City/Marysville to the north, Placerville to the east, Stockton, Concord, and Vallejo to the south, and Santa Rosa to the west.
Do you edit songfile data?
Yes, my service includes basic data editing. Mainly I seek to clean
up misspellings, incorrect artist/title entries, and obvious genre
errors.
Note: genre is a subjective category. I categorize only to the album
level. Also, classical music data is challenging to hone. If your
collection is extensive, we can discuss further data editing options.
Do you add album cover art?
No. I can show you an easy way to get started with that. If you find that album art is important to you, I offer a separate service which can be tailored to your needs.
Do you convert LPs or cassettes?
No. However, there are many relatively inexpensive player/converters that plug into a PC's USB port.
Do you convert homemade mix CDs?
Yes. However, I do no data work on these. Instead, I enter the name of the mix CD (or create one) and leave the artist/title entry to you.
Can I do all this myself instead of hiring you?
Sure. Check out my DIY page.
